Japan Bound by GPI US is a cultural immersion experience designed to expand the minds of American high school students by providing them with the opportunity to explore Japan. At GPI US, our goal is to empower today’s youth to thrive in our increasingly globalized world. We believe cross-cultural experiences provide students with the opportunity to discover new perspectives, challenge their worldview, and cultivate their own personal growth.

Access a variety of courses ranging from exploring the various neighborhoods of Tokyo to cuisine from the 47 prefectures of Japan.

In the Japan Bound Exchange, we provide our students an opportunity to build friendships with their peers from the other side of the world.

All of our Exchange programs are made for groups and can be customized to focus on the interests of your students whether it's a leadership club or a Japanese class.

About Us

Japan Bound is a GPI US initiative that leverages our shared experiences between both the US and Japan and provides our students with various opportunities to develop their cultural competency. As the world gets smaller and smaller, the need to develop not just as citizens of our own country but of the world becomes more and more important.

Mentorship and guidance is the crux of these experiences. Whether you're learning about Japan in the comfort of your home with our Explore Series or you're on a trip to Japan with the Experience program, our staff are there to help you learn to reflect on your experiences and help you find your path in today's world.

GPI US continues the mission originally set forth by ISA, its parent company in Japan, almost 50 years ago. GPI US works closely with ISA to promote global education by providing young people with unique global learning experiences that enrich their lives and inform their futures.

As an integral part of the ISA Group, GPI US was founded in 2012 to develop innovative educational programs and services that incorporate the most effective and successful educational practices including the widespread usage of liberal arts curricula, the expansion of progressive education, and the proliferation of the active learning method in classrooms.
